Quooker's history

Instant boiling water taps are becoming ever more popular in kitchens in the UK. As well as reducing appliances on our kitchen counters (sorry kettle!) it also reduces energy and time.

Quooker's founder, Henri Peteri has form for inventing time-saving products. Working at Unilever in 1970's, Peteri was part of the team that created instant soup. Quooker was born out of Peteri's realisation that instant soup is only instant if you don't have to wait for the kettle to boil. In 1970, Peteri decided to leave Unilever and instead worked tirelessly in his basement to engineer an instant boiling hot water tap. The first Quooker tap could be purchased from 1992 but sales really took off in 2004 when healthy sales led to Quooker being exported. Now over 300,000 are bought each year internationally.

The company is run by Henri Peteri's children, Neils and Walter.

Quooker now simplifies making tea and coffee, preparing food, sterilising utensils, and accessing filtered and sparkling water easier. Oh, and we forget it makes an instant soup truly instantly!

Reduce energy use

If you boil water several times a day, you are likely to use similar or less energy with a Quooker.  Unlike a kettle, you only heat and use the amount of water you need.

The Quooker cylinder sits neatly under your kitchen sink and is the first boiler in the world with high-vacuum insulation. It keeps water at 110 degress under pressure without using much energy. It is similar to an electrically powered flask which doesn't allow energy to escape. The water in the tank only reaches boiling as it leaves the tap so it isn't constantly boiling inside the vessel. It uses 50% less energy than a household boiler and the Quooker COMBI has an energy rating of A.

Reduce water usage

Do you let the tap run until it reaches a warm temperature? Do you boil the kettle with more water than you need? You could save water wastage with a Quooker CUBE tap. The Quooker CUBE provides instant cold, filtered, sparkling, hot and boiling hot water all from a cold water feed.

Reduce plastic waste

If you prefer filtered or sparkling water and routinely buy bottles of water, switching to a Quooker CUBE could reduce the amount of plastic waste your household creates.

So you know the benefits of Quooker, now all you have to do is find one that is perfect for your new kitchen.
