The rise of the 'Bootility' room

Example from Kitchen Stori | Mr and Mrs Jeffries from Guildford

The Bootility room (yes, you are reading that right we haven't misspelt utility) is growing in popularity. Many of us have had to rethink the way we use our homes during the pandemic. Kitchens became homeschools, offices and where we (relentlessly) prepared all our meals during the lockdown.

Now, with the easing of government restrictions, our kitchen will hopefully be used for more social occasions. The new trend for open spaces that connect the indoors and outdoors spaces to create impactful and useable space. But, having a utility or Bootility enhances the way you can use your home. Isolating louder appliances, like washing machines and dryers, will provide a much more serene environment in which to socialise or indeed continue to work from home as many businesses explore a combination of virtual and office-based work. So that means no more spin cycles during your conference calls!

The Bootility, which is a functional room for everything from your appliances to pet food storage, to boot/coat/shoe and sink is a great way to keep your open-plan space from feeling cluttered.  It also provides additional hygiene as there should be less transfer of mud and outdoor debris from more practical tasks entering the kitchen.

Just because the area is practical, doesn't mean it can't look great and feel like an extension of your kitchen. Using the same style cabinet and worktop as you have in your kitchen will create a cohesive design (and you won't feel like Cinderella!).
